POLY - torsionally flexible shaft coupling
Vibration-damping elastomer elements in the coupling halves
The POLY coupling is a torsionally flexible, non-fail-safe shaft coupling with an axial plug-in and is characterized particularly by its excellent oscillation compensation. The flexible elements (packages) in both coupling halves is its special characteristic.
Features of the various POLY designs
Feature | Designation of the coupling |
---|---|
Elastomers can be disassembled radially -> without shifting the drive/output end | PKD |
Intermediate shaft designs -> bridges larger shaft gaps | - |
Standard extension piece 100 mm to 250 mm | PKA |
Shaft-shaft connection | Standard |
Flange-shaft connection | - |
Flange-flange connection -> particularly short installation length | - |
Double-cardan -> permits large misalignments, low restoring forces | - |
Highlights
- Non-fail-safe
- Shallow installation depth
- Base range in stock
- Torques up to 6,100 Nm
Structure and function
Cam and pocket elements which are inserted blindly into each other axially are arranged on the circumference of the face of the two coupling halves. The individual elastomer elements are clamped in the gaps of the two coupling hubs and transmit the torque.
