Torsionally rigid steel multiple-disc clutches
Steel multiple-disc clutches are torsionally rigid and backlash-free couplings. The couplings are maintenance-free and also suitable for use under the harshest conditions. They allow shaft misalignments to be compensated for, but do not have any damping properties.

- ArcOflex® - Standard versions suitable for torques up to 23,000 Nm and for shaft diameters up to 150 mm

The disc packs made of high-strength, rust-free spring steel were developed based on FEM calculations. When doing so, the optimal shape with regard to torque transmission and torsional rigidity were striven for, taking into account the required possible misalignments of the coupling. The tapered shape of the steel discs on the outside diameter is the result of these optimisation calculations.
