ROTEX® GS – backlash-free servo coupling
Backlash-free shaft coupling under pretension
ROTEX® GS, a three-piece coupling with an axial plug-in that is backlash-free under pretension. It impresses even in critical applications thanks to its backlash-free torque transmission, optimum rigidity adapted to the respective application scenario, and excellent oscillation damping. Using this principle offers particularly easy-to-install and production-optimized installation options. The ROTEX® GS is designed as a modular system. Different hub designs can be combined with a single coupling size. Additionally, the ring gears are available in various Shore hardnesses.
In addition to the standard versions, Rotex® GS is also available in the following designs:

Highlights
- High power density with large range of variants
- With an axial plug-in for easy installation
- Torques ranging from 0.2 to 5,850 Nm
- Compact mounting dimensions – also in aluminium (for particularly low moments of inertia)
- Friction-fit shaft-hub connection for absolutely zero backlash
Structure and function
The straight toothing of the ring gear installed under initial stress leads to lower surface pressure and thus to increased rigidity of the coupling system. The elastic teeth that compensate for misalignments have radial support in the form of a raised collar along the internal diameter. This prevents excessive inward/outward deformation during strong acceleration and when operated at high speeds. This is crucial for trouble-free functioning and long-term durability.
The alternately installed "warts" on the ring gear prevent the entire surface of the ring gear from being in contact with the hub. This ensures the coupling's ability to compensate for misalignments, contributes to a long service life, and provides electrical insulation.
In order to ensure easy installation, the cams of the hubs and plastic teeth are sloped. The ROTEX® GS is also available in an ATEX version upon request.
