Disengaging and automatically re-engaging overload system

The KTR-SI FRA is a torque-limiting and disengaging overload system which operates using a form fit. Re-engaging takes place via the reversal of rotation direction.

Functional description

Upon reaching the set torque, the coupling disengages. Drive and output remain separated due to the disengaging mechanism. Centrifugal masses which are still in motion can coast down freely After eliminating the overload, the KTR-SI FRA can be re-engaged via a change in the direction of rotation at a slow speed.
