Accessories for belt drives
"First aid" with setting the right belt pretension
The right belt tension is crucial for the optimal operability of your belt drive. Too little tension can lead to the teeth skipping. Excessive tension can lead to a rough-running system, high bearing loads and increased wear on your drive system.
Accessories available:
- Single Tension Tester
- Double Tension Tester
- AT-1 laser
- Sonic Tension Model U-507 C
- Flexible sensor with rod
- Cord sensor with cable
- Tension Meter II
Belt tension measuring device Tension Meter II
It's easy to use:
- Plug in the measurement sensor directly or via a cable and turn on the Tension Meter II.
- When the system indicates that it is ready for measurement (m), hold the measurement sensor approx. 1 cm above the belt. Induce an oscillation in the belt, much like that of a guitar string.
- Read off the measured value and use the formula shown on the device (F = 4 x m x L² x f²) to determine the belt pretension.
F = belt side tension
[N] m = weight per metre [kg/m]
L = belt side length [m]
f = frequency [Hz]
If necessary, modify the belt tension and repeat the measurement.
