BFK557 spring-applied brake
Holding brake with emergency stop function and low height
The spring-applied brake INTORQ BFK557 is the optimal holding brake. In motors with frequency inverter operation, this series is suitable for use with the friction linings designed for this purpose. The emergency stop energies that users will be familiar with from INTORQ brakes also characterise the INTORQ BFK 557.
The INTORQ BFK557 bears the CE mark. It is also UL-certified. The flat and compact design ensures quick and easy installation.
Functional description:
This brake is an electrically releasable spring-applied brake with a rotary brake disk that is outfitted with friction linings on both sides (rotor). In deenergised state, the rotor is tensioned between the armature plate and a counter friction face by a braking normal force applied by compression springs. Hence, its function corresponds to the fail-safe principle. The braking torque applied to the rotor is transmitted to the drive shaft via an axially toothed hub.
The brake can be used as a holding brake and for emergency stops. The asbestos-free friction linings ensure a reliable braking torque and low wear. In order to release the brake, the armature plate is lifted off the rotor electromagnetically (released). The rotor, which is axially displaceable and thereby relieved of the spring pressure, can rotate freely.
