KTR-SI Compact safety coupling - ball catch principle
Backlash-free overload system for the protection of your drive train
The KTR-SI Compact is a torque-limiting, backlash-free overload system which operates using a form fit. In the event of an overload, a drop in torque to a significantly lower residual torque occurs. The KTR-SI Compact is a is a non-load-holding overload system.
Highlights
- Backlash-free overload system
- Ratcheting and synchronous version to choose from
- Low residual torques and high engaging accuracy thanks to degressive disk springs
- Can be combined with ROTEX® GS
Functional description
The design of the backlash-free KTR-SI Compact overload system is based on a spring-pre-tensioned and form-fit ball catch principle which enables a high repeat accuracy and short response times. Disk springs with a degressive spring characteristic curve are used, whose preset preload force decreases during the disengagement procedure. This causes the drive and output to be reliably separated from each other within milliseconds. At the same time, the wear on the components is reduced to a minimum.
The DK version (ratcheting version) re-engages in the subsequent depression every 15 ° in the event of an overload.
The SR version (synchronous version) only re-engages again after one revolution (360 °) in the event of an overload.
Power range
- Overload protection up to 3,100 Nm (dependent on disk spring layering)
