Universal joints and cardan shafts
Function of universal joints and cardan shafts
Universal joints and cardan shafts allow for the transmission of torques between spatially offset inputs and outputs. Spatial angular offsets and changes in axial length are also reliably and safely compensated for.
Standard versions of universal joints correspond to DIN808 and are suitable for small and medium torques. Depending on the design, speeds of either 1,000 rpm or 4,000 rpm can be realised.
Cardan shafts are suitable for use under the harshest conditions for torques up to 550,000 Nm.
For universal joints and cardan shafts, a wide range of mounting types are available to choose from, such as flange connections, clamping flanges, quick-change systems, bore holes, bore holes with slot according to DIN etc.
