ROTEX® - torsionally flexible jaw coupling
3-part coupling with coupling star for elastic torque transmission
The operating characteristics are positively influenced by the precise machining on all sides, which also significantly increases the service life of the coupling. It ensures that torsional vibrations are damped during power transmission and absorbs shocks caused by unevenly operating power engines.
ROTEX® couplings are torsionally flexible and transmit the torque in a form-fit manner, are fail-safe and can compensate for axial, radial and angular misalignments of the shafts to be connected. Vibrations and shocks are effectively damped and absorbed. This is made possible by the new heart of ROTEX® - the T-PUR® ring gear.
Features of the various ROTEX® designs
Feature | Designation of the coupling |
---|---|
Elastomers can be disassembled radially -> without shifting the drive/output end | AFN, A-H, S-H, ZR, DF, DFN, CF-H |
Intermediate shaft designs -> bridges larger shaft gaps | ZR, ZWN |
Standard extension piece 100 mm to 250 mm | ZS-DKM-H |
Shaft-shaft connection | Standard |
Flange-shaft connection | CF, CFN |
Flange-flange connection -> particularly short installation length | DF, DNF |
Double-cardan -> permits large misalignments, low restoring forces | ZS-DKM-H, ZR, ZWN |

Structure and function
The ROTEX® coupling consists of two hubs and an elastic T-PUR® ring gear. Unlike flexible couplings, this torsionally flexible coupling is only subject to pressure loads, instead of bending loads. This means that the individual teeth experience less wear and have a higher load capacity.
Form-fit and friction-fit hub designs for a wide range of applications are available.
T-PUR® ring gears in the hardnesses 92 Shore-A, 98 Shore-A and 64 Shore-D for the transmission of different torques for every application scenario.
